The dynamic development of RES opens up a number of new challenges, if only for the adaptation of the power grid to the new capacities supplied, especially at a time favourable for the production of green energy. However, this is only one of many challenges. Are we prepared for them?
Forecasts cited by the WysokieNapiecie.pl portal indicate that by 2027, Poland may have an additional 25.1 GW of installed capacity in RES sources, and its annual growth would reach 21 per cent. This would mean that we would have over 42 GW installed in the green energy sector.
The main, but not the only, problem facing our green energy market is the inadequate structure of power grids and the low level of investment in energy storage. Added to this are legal and administrative difficulties and the failure to keep up with the development of the skills of the specialists needed in the industry.
Fortunately, positive steps are already being taken in each of these areas, although we will still have to wait for their effect. What is important here is that the development of areas close to RES keeps pace with the dynamics of the green energy market.
