The wind energy industry is criticizing the draft regulation on changing the quantitative share of the sum of electricity resulting from redeemed certificates of origin confirming the generation of electricity from RES in the years 2025-2027. What does the dispute concern?
Rzeczpospolita.pl discusses the position of the Polish Wind Energy Association, which criticizes the current direction of work on the aforementioned regulation. According to the Association, the proposed changes to the system of certificates of origin could lead to serious problems in the further development of green energy.
The axis of the dispute remains the government’s proposal to increase the mandatory level of consumption of energy generated from RES by companies operating in industrial sectors. Currently, the obligation is at 5 percent, while next year it is expected to reach 12 percent.
At the same time, the content of the new regulations is not yet determined, due to differences of opinion within the government. They are to be resolved in the Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers.
