The Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment said that Poland has the opportunity to become a European offshore wind power hub. Does it really?

According to announcements coming from the government, offshore development in the Baltic is a priority in energy policy for the coming years, ahead of other energy sources, including nuclear.

Considering that the energy potential of the Polish Baltic Sea is estimated at 33 GW, we undoubtedly have a chance to become the European leader in offshore wind. After all, according to these figures, we have some of the best natural conditions on the Old Continent to produce energy offshore.

The question, however, is whether we will be able to take advantage of these resources. Although the opening of the first offshore wind power plant in Polish-owned Baltic waters is getting closer, there is a long way to go for this success to lead to real changes in the European offshore wind market.
