The needs for modernising and rebuilding the Polish electricity grid are downright enormous. Fortunately, there is the prospect of at least the most important works being realised. The question, as always, remains to what extent the ambitious plans can be put into practice.
The editors of WNP.PL report that the value of investments in the power grid is expected to exceed PLN 100 billion by 2030. These figures come from the response of the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment to a parliamentary interpellation.
According to the content of the reply, this is mainly about works related to the reconstruction and renovation of distribution networks. Of course, this also involves the grid operators obtaining EU funds.
At the same time, we learn that the Climate Ministry is considering changes to the law in areas such as extending the cable pooling formula, simplifying the process of connecting RES installations to the grid, increasing the transparency of the availability of connection capacity, and improving the planning process for the development of the electricity grid.
