The Pomeranian voivode has issued a construction permit for the 400 kV Choczewo-Zarnowiec line. This is one of four connections through which electricity produced by wind farms on the Baltic will flow to consumers on land.

The administrative decision was issued on April 15, and this day will certainly go down in the history of the Polish renewable energy market as one of the most significant dates. After all, without an adequate power grid, the power generated by wind turbines on the Baltic could not supply households and businesses.

The Choczewo-Zarnowiec line is to be 15 km long and run through the municipalities of Choczewo, Gniewino and Krokowa. The relevant infrastructure will be mostly planted in forest and agricultural areas.

In addition to this line, plans call for the construction of three more such connections – their task will be to transmit energy from farms on the Baltic to consumers in central and southern Poland.
