The PGE Group has begun preparations to launch proceedings for the construction of an energy storage facility at the Żarnowiec Peak-Pump Power Plant. This is an extremely important project.

The investor intends to find a contractor for the comprehensive construction of a large-scale, battery-based energy storage facility with a capacity of up to 263 MW and a minimum capacity of 900 MWh.

Storage of energy produced by green sources is essential. Without it, this energy will simply go to waste, as we have been observing for a long time. This year in particular has brought frequent shutdowns of green sources.

PGE plans to start the indicated proceedings – conducted in the form of an open tender – in late June/early July of the current year.
